Since California schools have so many budget cuts, the teachers are forced to take furlough days meaning the usual 2-day Thanksgiving holiday has been turned into a week long Fall Vacation. We spent the first day of vacation at Color Me Mine with Aunt Lauren and Uncle Rudy. We hadn't been in a while, actually Sophie has never been there, so it was time for a trip. The girls painted a couple gifts for their teachers, a birthday present or two and each painted something for themselves.
Our little adventure actually turned out to be quite an expensive outing, but the girls really enjoyed themselves. I, on the other hand, was really tense the whole time. Everything is breakable and at kid level. Isabel's sweatshirt caught a piece and it broke within the first 5 minutes of being there. Thankfully, the girl who was working didn't make us pay for the piece, even though there is a sign posted saying you have to pay for 50% of broken pieces.
Everyone was so serious while painting their masterpieces.
The girls all love to paint and they did a great job with everything. Sophie painted a cupcake box, Katie-poo painted a box with an elephant on it and Beli painted a box with Jack Skeleton on it. Thankfully Uncle Rudy was there to draw the elephant and Jack for us. He and Lauren painted a Super Mario Brothers bowl for 5 and a half hours. We left after 3 hours though. It was a lot of fun. Hopefully, we can go back sometime and I can paint something too!
