The firefighters coming to put out the fire. The guys who caused the fire had already used their garden hoses to put out most of the fire...and then they all disappeared!

Since the girls were still with Gran Gran, we decided to skip the Pancake Breakfast this year. Once the girls came home, we headed over to Grandpa Dean & Grandma Chris' house for some swimming and a BBQ. The girls had so much fun hanging out in the pool all day. Isabel got brave enough today to jump in the pool with just her arm floaties on. Her head went under water and then she'd pop back up to the surface. When it was time for dinner, we went over to Grandma & Grandpa's house for a BBQ and (illegal) fireworks.

We buy the fireworks that are lit and explode on the ground, but a bunch of the neighbors shoot huge fireworks up in the sky. Usually things go off without a hitch...but this year was another story. The guys across the street from the house on the corner (got all that?) were lighting flowers (the fireworks) and throwing them into the street. Well, they missed the street and threw them right into an area of trees and bushes...catching it all on fire! From where we were it looked the house was on fire, thank God it wasn't, but it was right up against the house! Jamie called the fire department and they came within a couple minutes. The fire was put out and the fireworks resumed as soon as the cops were off the street!

The girls had fun this year. Sophie covered her face at the beginning, but Beli and Katie jumped right in and lit up some sparklers. We lit a bunch of cool fireworks, but Purple Rain is definitely still our favorite firework!
