Isabel and Kaitlin are still on their Winter Break and Daddy had the day off so we asked the girls what they wanted to do. Katie-poo said she wanted to see elephants...so we headed to the LA Zoo to see some animals. It was such a nice day. I think all of LA had the same idea, but the zoo is one place where crowds don't really matter. We saw lions, tigers, leopards, a hippo, lots of monkeys, some wild dogs (per Sophie's request), seals, koalas, kangaroos, 1 elephant and lots more! I thought the construction on the new pachyderm enclosure was done already, but not yet. We were afraid for a while that there were no elephants at the zoo when we couldn't find them on the map...but then we found one, Billy. Billy was behind 2 fences and kind of far away, but at least Katie got to see her elephant! Maybe next time we'll just have to bite the bullet and go to the San Diego Zoo or Wild Animal Park...or maybe we should just go back to Africa! It was such a GREAT day!!

On our way home, we stopped at El Cholo for dinner to cap off our "Christmas Vacation." We go to El Cholo so often, at least a couple times a month for the last 7 years, that we are well known there. The manager and his wife brought balloons and duckys to the girls, and then free churros and then told us dinner was on them...Merry Christmas! It was SO nice of them!

*oh, and by the way, I cut their hair (3 inches each!)...might not be perfect, but they sure look CUTE!
