Our staycation is coming to an end. We all wish Jamie had taken a couple more days off, but someone has to work around here!
Today, we all got to do something we wanted.
I wanted a day where we would all stay clean and I wouldn't have to apply sunscreen to 3 little bodies...and to eat at El Cholo.
Isabel and Kaitlin wanted to see the movie "Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore."
Sophie wanted to eat Pink Bubble Gum Ice Cream...big mistake...stay tuned!
And Jamie just wanted to spend time with us...awww!
So after a relaxing morning of movies and Wii games, we headed to the movies. And we were the only ones in the movie! It was actually kind of cool being all alone in there. I think this was our most expensive event from our staycation at $48!!! And we didn't even get popcorn. That's what you get when they make movies only in 3D.
So, we all got what we wanted...even Sophie. She doesn't usually get to eat Pink Bubble Gum ice cream (and definitely doesn't get to chew gum in the car) and I really should've stuck to it. We went to Baskin Robbins after El Cholo, we got our ice cream and ate it on Birch Street (it was finally a warm summer evening). We got in the car and drove 2 minutes down the street to Target. When we walked in Sophie was holding her bangs with one hand and wouldn't let go them. It finally dawned on me that she had gum in her hair...again! Yep, right there, in the middle of her bangs, extremely close to the roots. Lovely!

| There goes my staying clean wish! |
To all my friends with kids...peanut butter really does work to get gum out of hair. Just add a little water and rub it out. Sophie is LUCKY!

| You can actually see in this picture where her hair is a bit shorter in the front from the last time I had to cut gum out of her hair! I'm thinking maybe Sophie shouldn't be chewing gum for a while. |
We had such a fun staycation this summer. We always wish it was a bit longer, but school starts in 2 weeks and I should probably start getting the girls on a normal sleep schedule. We got some stuff crossed off our to-do list, and some things are still there for the next few weekends. We probably wont get to everything, but playing at the beach sure makes up for it! Thanks for taking the time off work, Hun...and thanks for working so hard so we can continue to play!!!

There's nothing better to do than to be able to spend quality time as a family. You guys make the most of your time together. It's very inspiring!
